    The Opportunity

We are searching for a Material Handler (Back-up Truck Driver) for our Stoney Creek, ON Warehouse site. The individual is responsible for the daily movement of product, materials and machinery inside and outside of the warehouse facility using a combination of manual and mechanical means.

    The ideal candidate will have previous experience in a warehouse environment as well as DZ driving experience. The success candidate will possess an enthusiastic and positive attitude support by excellent communication and interpersonal skills. This position is responsible to complete customer orders, receive incoming shipments, re-stock inventory, pack and load orders for shipment and complete all necessary documents and act as back-up to Truck Drivers. Computer literacy and attention to details is required.

      Responsibilities

    • Locate and pick product and materials as per customer order requirements, use computer information or paper documentation to build order to completion, tag/label and prepare order for shipment, ensure all documentation relating to customer order is complete and filed
    • Follow daily delivery schedule to ensure orders are picked and completed on time and in proper sequencing for efficient loading
    • Load trucks, load in proper sequence for efficient delivery, ensure all product/material loaded is secure and safe prior to vehicle movement
    • Unload trucks, ensure correct documentation is received and completed, receive and re-stock inventory, verifies accuracy of product/material match with labels, bins/shelving/storage locations, places inventory in correct location, advises of any errors or discrepancies

    Qualifications

The individual is responsible for the daily movement of product, materials and machinery inside and outside of the warehouse facility using a combination of manual and mechanical means.

    This position is responsible for the delivery of product and material to customers and for the picking up of product and material from customers and suppliers. This position is also responsible to ensure all documentation associated to the delivery and pick up of product and material is complete and filed and, to assist in the warehouse as required/requested.

      Responsibilities

    • Complete daily appointments and deliveries as per the schedule determined by the Branch/Warehouse Manager (or designate), to advise throughout the day of any issues/problems with incomplete or unfinished appointments or deliveries,
    • Ensure product or material is loaded in a safe manner prior to vehicle movement, to inspect, document and report damaged product or materials, communicates same to Branch/Warehouse Manager (or designate)
    • On a daily basis ensure trucks and equipment are in good working condition; pre-start up checklists and maintenance checklists are completed and submitted, to immediately communicate mechanical/maintenance issues to supervision
    • Complete all necessary customer delivery or customer/supplier pick up documents according to established procedures, controls documents, obtains signatures, remits completed documents on a daily basis
    • Follow safe driving practices, follow all Ministry of Transportation regulations, ensure products, materials and machinery are moved and stored in a safe fashion
    • Assist customers at warehouse sales counter as required/requested
    • Responsible for care, control and security of vehicle and product, must immediately report any breach to Branch/Warehouse Manager (or designate) and notify proper authorities

    Qualifications

    • Minimum one (1) year DZ driving experience preferably with a background from a warehouse environment and experience operating mechanical lifting devices

    Inside Sales Tech Reprensentatives (Saskatoon)New!

    The Opportunity

We are searching for an Inside Sales Technical Representative for our Saskatoon Branch. The successful candidate will maximize sales within Saskatoon, SK and surrounding areas and will generate new and existing accounts. The individual will be primarily responsible for receiving, generating and processing sales orders, developing and communicating quotations, providing expertise relating to product lines, product applications and product technical knowledge. This position also serves as customer contact for such matters as pricing, scheduling and delivery, preparing general correspondence and co-ordinating service needs.

    The ideal candidate will have previous experience in pipe, valves, fittings and industrial sales environment and will cultivate and maintain strong relationships with our customers. Knowledge of mechanical, fire protection, and waterworks market and/or general plumbing would be considered an asset. Computer literacy is required.

      Responsibilities

    • Receive sales orders from customers by phone, fax, email or via sales representative; enter all information required for order picking into the system; transcribing all non-stock material in orders to material control for purchasing purposes
    • Responsible for counter sales and order picking
    • Assist in preparing orders, packing and act as a back up to the warehouse – Material Handler
    • Resolve customer issues and/or problems; liaise with outside sales, accounting/credit department, materials control and warehouse to investigate and resolve issues; recommend improvements and corrective actions
    • Prepare sales and delivery quotations; communicate quotes and product specifications; liaise with warehouse personnel to co-ordinate deliveries with customers; follow up as required/requested
    • Actively use selling techniques to increase sales through the use and promotion of complimentary and/or substitution products and specially priced items, pro-actively contacts customers as required/requested, reports on customer activity
    • Follow-up on direct shipments from supplies to customers to ensure order delivery and billing is completed and timely; prepares documentation for customer returned material to stock and/or to the supplier
    • Remain current with company products and services
    • Participate in and undertake any training as require/requested
    • Participate in physical inventory and reception duties as required
    • Participate in special sales functions and trade shows
    • Prepare and generate reports as required/requested

    Qualifications

    • Minimum 5 years’ experience in insides sales or customer service/sales preferably with progressive levels of responsibility for quotations and knowledge of costings in a related industry. Background knowledge in mechanical/industrial, pipe and fittings, fire protection, waterworks and/or general plumbing
    • Proven business development skills
    • College Diploma in Sales/Marketing, Business Administration or related Industry experience
    • Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal and negotiations/problem solving skills
    • High degree of accuracy with attention to detail
    • Ability to maintain high level of confidentiality
    • Ability to grasp and communicate the technical aspects of the company’s products
    • Possess an intermediate level of computer competency with Microsoft Word, Excel Outlook and web based applications
